Behind the Scenes

What's Actually in My Kit

July 8, 2026 · 3 min read

A behind-the-scenes look at what I pack for every event, and why I never leave home without a spare sponge.

The core kit: a professional face paint palette, a set of fine-detail brushes, sponges (a lot of sponges), fine glitter, a stencil book for quick designs, and a design reference book so kids can point at exactly what they want.

Then there's everything else: hand sanitizer, baby wipes, a spray bottle for cleaning brushes between faces, paper towels, and a folding stool so I'm at eye level with whoever's in the chair.

And yes, always a spare sponge. The first one inevitably ends up on the ground by hour two, and there is no version of this job where I'm painting sixty faces with a dirty sponge.
